A sentence has been handed down in death of a woman killed on the near the Skyway Bridge last July.

You may remember police closed that portion of the highway twice to investigate.

The driver, 32 year old Billy Gladysz of Oakville, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 32 year old Amber Lynn Wilkinson.

Thursday, Gladysz was given an additional 27 months in prison on top of the 15 months credit he was given for pretrial custody.

Court heard that on the night of July 30th, 2011, Gladysz met Amber Lynn Wilkinson and her boyfriend, Robbie Burns, outside of Hamilton’s Wesley Centre.

The couple was on a crack cocaine binge.

Gladyz offered them money in exchange for sex.

The two got in his car and there was a dispute over money.

Gladysz pulled over, told Burns to get out, and drove away.

Wilkinson then tried to control the car.

When he stopped again, she got out of the car and climbed onto the hood.

Gladysz took his foot off the break and turned the wheel, trying to get Wilkinson off his car.

She fell, hit her head and died.
