Man killed at Flamborough quarry

A 28 year old man has died in a workplace accident at the Lafarge quarry in West Flamborough.

Hamilton Fire crews were called to the area to perform a rope rescue, but have confirmed the rescue is no longer necessary. An Ornge air ambulance has also been cancelled.

The man was stuck on a platform 50 feet above the ground, and was injured by a steel beam.

Ontario’s labour ministry has been called in to investigate.
