71-year-old pedestrian killed in Norfolk County collision: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a 71-year-old pedestrian was killed in a collision Thursday afternoon.

In a release issued Monday, OPP say officers responded to a collision reported at an address on Highway 3 in Middleton around 1:46 p.m.

Initial investigations determined that shortly after 1:40 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The victim, identified only as a man from Oxford County, was taken to a local hospital where he would ultimately be pronounced deceased.

Police have not disclosed at this time whether the driver of the vehicle remained on scene or whether they are searching for the vehicle involved.

An investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing. Officers are appealing to the public for assistance and ask anyone with information to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
