A 19 year old man is now the voice for more than 120 000 people and Sam Oosterhoff will earn six figures a year, as the newest member of the Ontario legislature.

Reality hasn’t sunk in completely for Ontario’s youngest member of parliament. Just a day after defending the wine-country riding, Oosterhoff was out in Beamsville thanking voters for their support. The home schooled social Conservative becomes one of Ontario’s highest paid teenagers earning just over $116 000 plus expenses and over $22 000 for Toronto accommodations. Oosterhoff took a leave from his first year of poltical science studies at Brock University to run in the by-election.

“I hope to commute as much as possible, I want to stay as much in the Niagara region and in Niagara West Glanbrook as I possibly can.” Sam Oosterhoff, MPP.

He plans on taking night classes come January but says his constituents come first. Oosterhoff will be sworn in as an MPP later this month.
