The City of Hamilton Animal Services says someone is pretending to work for them and taking dogs.
A photo has been released on the Animal Services facebook page. It shows a white van that someone is trying to pass off as an animal control vehicle.

Animal Services says someone has been taking animals from homes for for alleged by-law violations, but they’re reminding the public that Hamilton animal control officers will not take an animal for a by-law violation. Also, Hamilton animal control officers wear uniforms, have photo identification and a badge. They also drive vehicles with the City of Hamilton logo on them.

They say anyone who thinks they may be dealing with someone impersonating animal services and attempting to take an animal, should call Hamilton police with a description of the person and the vehicle.
