Body found in Lake Erie near Nanticoke

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says the body of a 53-year-old woman has been pulled from Lake Erie.

Officers were called to Erie St. in Nanticoke around 5 p.m. Thursday after a resident spotted a body floating near the shoreline.

“The body was recovered and confirmed deceased at the scene,” said OPP in a news release. “A vehicle belonging to the deceased was located parked nearby.”

Police say the woman was a Haldimand County resident. A post-mortem has been scheduled for Friday.
