WWE superstar Trish Stratus receives key to Niagara Falls

WWE superstar Trish Stratus became the latest celebrity to receive the key to Niagara Falls. Stratus was in town for the honour, while also set to judge the finale of Canada’s Got Talent which is currently filming at Niagara’s OLG Stage.

Stratus had Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati in a headlock Monday morning and upon submission, Diodati handed the city’s key to her. Stratus says she and her family spend a lot of time in the Niagara region.

Stratus received the key inside the Fallsview Casino and she says she isn’t taking the key for granted, “…I’m thrilled I’m honoured and I’ll do my best to uphold whatever the duties of a keyholder is!”

Stratus has won eight world titles and was a trailblazer for female wrestlers of today. Outside the ropes, Stratus ventured off into films and her own yoga brand Stratusphere.

Diodati says, “It was a real homecoming for Trish and a way to reconnect and we like to celebrate people celebrating Niagara and Niagara Falls.”

The finale of Canada’s Got Talent will air on May 16.
