A woman is facing murder charges following a two-vehicle collision in Grimsby last night that left an 82-year-old person dead and one other in hospital.

Niagara police responded to reports of a collision in the area of Ridge Rd. West and Mountain Rd. shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers arrived to an 82-year-old woman without vital signs and a 79-year-old man with injuries. A spokesperson for the force says both victims are from Hamilton.

Police say the female was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead, while the man was taken to an out-of-town hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Investigators say the vehicle was allegedly intentionally struck by another vehicle, with the impact causing the vehicle to drive into a ditch.
