What’s open and closed on Labour Day in the GHA

Here’s a look at what’s open and what’s closed in the Golden Horseshoe Area on Labour Day.

There will be no recycling or garbage collection in Hamilton or Halton, pick-up will be one day later. Garbage collection in Niagara is unaffected by the holiday.

Transit in Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara will be running on a Sunday-holiday schedule for Monday and some routes will operate on reduced frequencies.

GO transit is running on a Saturday schedule.

  • Most tourist attractions including the Royal Ontario Museum, CN Tower, Eaton Centre, Toronto Zoo, Canada’s Wonderland, and African Lion Safari.
  • Some grocery stores with reduced hours
  • Some The Beer Store locations

CLOSED

  • Government offices
  • Most malls
  • Post offices
  • Banks
  • LCBO and some The Beer Store locations
  • Libraries
