‘We’re back’ Arkells announces summer concert at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field

Arkellians mark your calendars!

Hamilton’s beloved Arkells has announced a summer concert at Tim Hortons Field.

The band enlisted the help of Toronto Raptors’ head coach Nick Nurse to reveal the news in a video posted on Twitter early Friday.

It features Nurse giving the group a pep talk as they prepare to return home, two years after their ‘inaugural Rally’ show in Hamilton.

“Alright boys, I know a thing about delivering on the big stage. But this is a whole other arena,” says Nurse as he shows off his championship ring. The band is quick to clarify Tim Hortons Field is a stadium, not an arena.

In a post on their website, Arkells said they have released a new song to get fans “in the mood” called, Years In The Making.

“Our 2018 show at Tim Hortons Field – the inaugural Rally – exceeded our expectations in every way, so we knew we had to do it again,” reads the post. “From hand picking the lineup to collabing with so many different local artists, small biz owners, charitable initiatives and local institutions like the HSR, the Hamilton bike share program, Hamilton Flea, and the Ticats – it was a joy to show off some of the best that Hamilton has to offer.”

The concert will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale on March 3 and the general public can purchase tickets on March 5.
