Victim of crash in Brantford identified

Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released the identity of a man killed in a crash involving two SUVs in Brant County Saturday. 

Shortly after 10 p.m. emergency crews responded to reports of a collision on Highway 24 South.

Police say 40-year-old Norman Tate from Norfolk County was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The passenger in the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital before being transferred to a Hamilton area hospital. 

Police say the driver of the second vehicle was taken to a Norfolk County area hospital and was treated for minor injuries. 

The roadway between Elliot Road and Oakland Road was closed for several hours and has since re-opened. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
