Victim identified in Hamilton’s 3rd homicide of the year

First Published:

Hamilton police have identified the city’s third homicide victim of the year as 39-year-old Tyler Pratt of British Columbia.

His body was discovered in an industrial area of Stoney Creek near 347 Arvin Avenue, Sunday night.

Police had initially been called to the area after someone saw an injured woman near the front of the business. Police then located Pratt’s body behind the building.

The 26-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police say the pair knew each other.

Investigators have no description of a suspect or suspects but say they are searching for a new model white Land Rover SUV.

Anyone travelling on Arvin Avenue or Barton Street East between Fruitland Road and Green Road between 7:00 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. is asked to contact the police with any information or video.
