VIDEO: The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday struck down President Donald Trump’s so-called “Liberation Day” global tariffs, a blow to a central piece of the president’s second administration. Justices ruled six to three Trump violated federal law by unilaterally applying those tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, including some of those levied against Canada. Angered by the ruling, Trump announced soon after he’s imposing a global 10 per cent tariff as an alternative. President Trump says he’s “deeply disappointed” in the decisions and members of the court. The conclusion from the Conservative Supreme Court surprised many, with lawmakers siding with the President in a series of emergency rulings last year.
