U.S. and Israeli negotiators are expected to gather in Doha soon in a bid to restart talks toward a deal for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza, according to top diplomats in Washington and Qatar.

Palestinian officials report that an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced people in the central Gaza Strip has killed at least 17 people.

This strike occurred as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Israel had accomplished its objective of “effectively dismantling” Hamas and that ceasefire negotiations would resume in the coming days.
