Peel police charge former Air Canada pilot with flying without proper licenses

VIDEO:  A former Air Canada pilot has been arrested and charged following a months-long investigation by Peel Police. The criminal investigation comes after a regulatory review by transport Canada. Authorities say the former pilot used fraudulent licenses in the 17-years he served as a captain during which he was assigned to over 900 flights earning over $2.9 million dollars in salary.
Police are calling it project Icarus after the Greek mythology of a man who flew too close to the sun. The former Air Canada pilot from Barrie, Ontario is facing seven charges for allegedly deceiving both his employer and the federal civil aviation regulator.
