How can you not be romantic about baseball? The championship win sparked pandemonium in the streets of L.A. with rowdy crowds. This World Series ending will likely go down as one to remember, especially for Canadian and World Series MVP Freddie Freeman.
The L.A. Dodgers poured onto the field of Yankee Stadium following Walker Buehler’s winning strikeout, capping off the largest comeback in a series-clinching win.
Los Angeles overcame a five-run deficit with the help of defensive miscues and errors by the New York Yankees. The Dodgers rallied to win 7-6 in Game 5. In what was a night to remember for L.A., the New York meltdown was a night to forget.
The Dodgers’ celebration carried over into the streets of Los Angeles.
Fireworks and rowdy crowds took over the city, which eventually led to numerous arrests for vandalism.
Despite the chaos, celebrating Dodger fans shared their jubilation.
The ball club’s deep pockets helped secure some of Major League Baseball’s biggest household names, including Shohei Ohtani, the Blue Crew’s record-setting signing this past offseason. The megastar justified his $700 million contract with an unprecedented statistical year and a huge fan base, including his home country, Japan.
And don’t forget about American-Canadian Freddie Freeman, who capped off his World Series.
