VIDEO: Canada is sending more aid to Ukraine to help in it’s defence against Russia. Prime Minister Mark Carney says his government is pledging $270 million dollars to help Ukraine secure critical military capabilities. He made the announcement in Armenia Monday, where he’s meeting with world leaders during the European Political Community Summit. It’s a significant trip for Carney, the first non-European leader to be invited to the summit, as he works to strengthen Canada’s ties to Europe. Carney told members Canada is at the summit because of the “immense potential” for stronger partnerships. He reiterated his message from the World Economic Forum earlier this year saying “we have to actively take on the world as it is, not as we wish it to be.”
