Carney kicks off G7 summit, Trump faces barrage of trade, war questions

While Prime Minister Mark Carney is tasked to lead talks among the world’s top leaders, it was U.S. President Donald Trump who faced a barrage of questions surrounding trade and war.

In the Rocky Mountains of Alberta Monday, Carney kicked off this year’s G7 summit and inquiries about a new trade deal with Canada were brought up, which Trump says is “achievable”.

The pair reportedly met privately after weeks of exchanging phone calls and text messages in an ongoing attempt to resolve the economic conflict triggered by Trump’s tariffs.
