Canadians take shelter as violence breaks out in Mexico after drug lord ‘El Mencho’ killed

VIDEO: Canadians in Western Mexico have been sheltering in place after the local army killed the North American country’s most powerful cartel leader during an attempt to capture him in Jalisco state. Cartel members responded to the killing of “El Mencho” with violence across the country and Mexican officials say 25 national guard members have been killed in separate attacks. Multiple Canadian airlines have cancelled flights, with Air Canada and Westjet suspending service in and out of Puerto Vallarta Monday.
