VIDEO: Canadian officials finally cut the ribbon at the Gordie Howe International Bridge on Canadian soil, as trade tensions deepen this week over new tariffs. Delays of the bridge’s opening were also extended by the Trump administration’s demands regarding tolls and debt repayment for its construction. During the celebration in Windsor, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on social media, claiming that the Canadian government “disinvited” American officials, after his latest tariff attack this week. Canada’s infrastructure minister told the press that given these circumstances, they thought a joint ceremony would be inappropriate.
