BAFTAs facing backlash after racial slur heard during live broadcast

VIDEO: The stars were out in full force at the British Academy Film Awards, better known as the BAFTAs, celebrating the year’s biggest achievements in film. While there were major wins, and emotional speeches, the night is also being remembered for controversy, with the BBC and the awards academy facing backlash after a racial slur was heard during the live broadcast coming from an attendee with Tourette syndrome. With the Oscars now just weeks away, one film in particular is looking more and more like a favourite. The darkly-comedic action film “One Battle After Another” won six awards, including best film, and best director for Paul Thomas Anderson but the success of these films has seemingly been overshadowed by an uncensored moment.
