The Artemis II astronauts raced to set a new distance record Monday, traveling farther from Earth than any humans have before.

The previous record was set by the Apollo 13 crew in 1970 — but Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen says he hopes the record he and his crewmates set on Monday, won’t be held for long.
