VIDEO: Britain’s governing Labour Party has a new captain, paving the way for a change at the top of government. Andy Burnham has officially been declared Labour leader, after Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced he would step down following a rebellion within his own party. In his first speech to the Labour Party today, Burnham pledged to give people in the UK “hope back.” He added, he has a “plan”— reassuring the party that has seen a popularity nosedive in the two years since Starmer won a landslide victory.
