Teenage Head guitarist believed to be Hamilton’s third homicide of 2022

First Published:

Hamilton police are investigating the city’s third homicide of the year.

On Sunday, August 7, police received information that a number of emails had been sent to a variety of media outlets with information related to a deceased person.

Officers attended a residence at 175 Catherine Street South and found a man in his 60s dead.

The victim is believed to be the founding guitarist of Teenage Head, Gord Lewis.

Police say positive identification of the man has not been made due to the level of decomposition and an autopsy will be performed in the coming days.

41-year-old Jonathan Lewis, Gord’s son, has been arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder. They are not seeking additional suspects and believe this was an isolated incident.

There will be a continued police presence in the area of 175 Catherine Street South for the next couple of days while investigators process the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
