Teen charged after driver caught going 200 km/hr on Hwy. 403

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says a teenager is facing charges after a vehicle was clocked going more than twice the speed limit on Highway 403 in Brant County.

Police say the driver was caught going 201 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone around 12:40 a.m. on Monday.

In a tweet, OPP said a teen who was out celebrating his 17th birthday was charged with race a motor vehicle and speeding in excess of 50 km/hr.

The boy’s vehicle was impounded for 14 days and his driver’s license was suspended for 30 days.

He is expected to appear in a Brantford court at a later date.
