Team Canada unveils kit by Lululemon for 2022 Winter Olympics

First Published:

Lululemon has unveiled its kit as Team Canada’s new outfitter for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing.

The apparel company says the concept behind the new uniform design is “when you feel your best, you perform your best.”

The theme of transformation is also embedded within the kit in the form of a bold print that captures the natural uniqueness of the country’s national symbol – the maple leaf – as it undergoes metamorphosis, shifting shape and changing colour throughout its growing season.

For the Opening Ceremony, Team Canada will be dressed in an all-red look with the Team Canada 22 Down Jacket layered on top of the Team Canada 22 Transformable Parka, both of which are water-repellent and windproof.

Athletes who reach the podium will don another all-red look that is made of natural merino wool in an engineered knit that creates a 3D texture.

The closing ceremony gear will be a winter white version of the opening ceremony outfit.

Athletes will also have the choice of a cropped jacket, a pullover, a beanie, mittens and high-rise pants to wear to media appearances or while walking around the Olympic Village.

Lululemon has taken over as outfitter for Team Canada after Hudson’s Bay’s 16-year run recently came to an end.

Some pieces from the new collection are available on the Lululemon website.
