People were mourning actress Tanya Roberts on Monday, only to learn there was no reason to.
Numerous news sources reported she had died but she is still alive.
The confusion stemmed from a report from Roberts’ publicist, Mike Pingel, who mistakenly said she died Sunday in hospital after a Christmas Eve collapse at home.
Robert’s husband, Lance O’Brien, told Pingel he was at her bedside Sunday night and said goodbye to her. O’Brien says he was so distraught he left the hospital thinking it would be the last time he saw her.
He was doing an interview Monday morning when the hospital called him with the news his partner was still alive.
Roberts’ rep is now saying she is in critical condition.
Roberts is known for playing Midge Pinciotti in “That 70s Show.” She also played Stacey Sutton, the geologist who captivated James Bond in the 1985 spy thriller, “A View to a Kill.”
