Stoney Creek man arrested for attempted murder after shooting in Kitchener

A 23-year-old man from Stoney Creek is charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Kitchener over the weekend.

Waterloo police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Wellington St. South and Walter St. around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday

Upon arrival, police found a 23-year-old man from Kitchener with injuries. Police say he was taken to an out of region hospital.

Police say both men were known to one another and officers believe that this was a targeted incident.

Officers say the Stoney Creek man was arrested and charged with attempted murder, robbery with a firearm, authorized possession of a firearm, occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.
