Father and son struck by driver in St. Catharines, father charged in stabbing: police

A St. Catharines man has been charged after police say he stabbed a driver that struck him and his young son in St. Catharines.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Ontario St. and Scott St. around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say a 46-year-old man and his six-year-old son were in the crosswalk when they were struck by a driver in a pickup truck.

The driver got out of the car and police say an “altercation” occurred and the driver was stabbed.

Police say the 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The father and son suffered minor injuries.

Ryan Garrett has been charged with aggravated assault.
