SIU continues to probe Hamilton Police shooting

The Special Investigations Unit continues to probe Tuesday’s shooting in Hamilton.

A 42-year-old man remains in hospital after being shot by police near Cannon St. and Gage Ave.

The province’s police watchdog says five investigators and three forensic investigators are on the case.

According to an SIU release, they’ve completed several witness interviews and reviewed video footage from the area.

Eight Hamilton Police officers were involved in incident.

Two police-issued firearms and one shotgun were recovered from the scene.

Anyone with information or who has video evidence is being asked to contact the SIU.
