A 44-year-old man was shot and killed last night in the area of 334 East 14th Street on the Hamilton Mountain.

Police were called to the parking lot of an apartment complex just before 11:00 p.m. They arrived shortly after the call to find the male on the ground and bleeding. Officers attempted life-saving measures before Hamilton Paramedics arrived to assist police.

The man was transported to Hamilton General Hospital but died just before 11:30 p.m.

This was the city’s 6th homicide of the year.

Police will continue their investigation during the day but are asking anyone in the immediate area to check their video surveillance between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. and report anything suspicious to police.

The victim’s name will not be released at this time. Investigators have briefly spoken with the victim’s family, however, they require time to notify other next of kin.
