Ride Along stars Ice Cube as James, a member of the Atlanta Police Department. When his sister’s boyfriend, played by funny man Kevin Hart, comes to him with the news that they’re getting married, James decides to take him on a 24 hour patrol to scare him away from his family.

Executives have already put a sequel into motion for this buddy-cop comedy. Once the script is finalized, production on a Ride Along 2 could start  a few months after its opening. Of course, if the movie turns out to be a flop, any plans for a sequel will likely get cancelled. Kevin Hart has seen his comedic star rise dramatically in the last few years appearing in This Is The End, Think Like a Man, The Five-Year Engagement, and his series of stand-up specials. Ice Cube looks to be an effective straight-man to the erratic Hart which should make for an interesting duo.

Ride Along is rated 14A.
