Rare lunar occultation of Mars set for the sky next week

On December 7th, Mars will be at its brightest in the sky. At the same time, the full moon is set to eclipse the planet, passing fully in front of Mars in something called “occultation”.

To explain more, we welcomed The Great Orbax from the Department of Physics at the University of Guelph.
