Police arrest man who stole money from Burlington retirement home resident

Police have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man who allegedly stole money from a resident at the Burlington Gardens Retirement Home earlier this month.

Officers say the victim was in her bedroom on March 1 around 2 p.m. when she awoke to an unknown man standing in her unit.

Halton police say the man entered through an unlocked front door and claimed to be a personal support worker.

The man allegedly stole approximately $170 in cash from a purse belonging to the victim.

Gagandeep Goyal of Hamilton has been charged with break and enter.

Officers say he was released on an Undertaking.
