Taz Boga
Anchor, Evening News
Having spent the last decade working in various cities in both Canada and the U.S., Taz is happy to be closer to home. Born in London, Ontario, Taz pursued a career in journalism after obtaining a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University.
Before moving to Hamilton in the fall of 2009, Taz spent six and a half years in Ottawa as a reporter and weekend anchor at ‘A’ News. Previous to that, she spent two and a half years as a general assignment reporter for ‘A’ News in Calgary. She began her career in Erie, PA, where she was a reporter/fill-in anchor at the CBS affiliate. Taz currently co-anchors the Evening News at 6 with Phil Perkins, and anchors the Evening News at 11.
Taz is an accomplished violinist and pianist and is a strong proponent of the arts. She is also an avid reader, and can often be found curled up with a good book. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
What Taz loves about her job: “There’s nothing better than feeling like you’ve made a difference. Each day brings with it new challenges and new faces. I can’t think of another career that allows for more creativity and reflection.”
