Simone Gavros knew she wanted to be a journalist since she was 14 and has been chasing that goal ever since.

Her drive to follow her dreams led to her Bachelor’s in Media Production and Master’s in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. Over the years, she had the opportunity to intern and work at multiple companies including Breakfast Television, CBC, The Agenda with Steve Paikin and TLN.

After working at CTV News Channel for a year as a chase producer, Simone knew telling stories on air was where she belonged. She started as a part-time video journalist at CHCH News in April 2023 and quickly joined the Morning Live team as their live reporter in September.

When she’s not telling stories, you can find Simone heavily involved in her Greek community, teaching traditional Greek dance and performing across the GTHA. She’s also a huge animal lover and will never miss an opportunity to say hi to dogs while out covering a story.
