First Published:

A Hamilton man has died in hospital after crashing into a home just off Highway 6 in Flamborough on Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Highway 6 at Gore Rd. before 9 a.m.

Ontario Provincial Police say the driver was travelling southbound on the highway, when it crossed into the northbound lanes hitting another vehicle before crashing into a home.

Investigators say they are trying to determine what happened and say it’s possible the driver had some sort of medical event.

The 55-year-old man from Hamilton was taken to a trauma centre where he died.

The highway is currently closed in both directions between Maddaugh Rd. and Campbellville Rd. for the investigation.

The closure is expected to be in place for several hours.

The driver of the other vehicle that was hit was not injured.
