The Ontario Provincial Police have released the identity of a suspect who was involved in a stand-off with police in Six Nations of the Grand River on Wednesday.
OPP were called in around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Six Nations Police Service who were dealing with an active weapons incident on Chiefswood Road between Fifth and Six Line in Ohsweken.
Officers confirmed that a 40-year-old man had barricaded himself inside a building and fired a gun at police.

Police later broke through the front door of the suspect’s home and he was struck multiple times during an exchange of gunfire with police.
Matthew Dane Porter, 40, of Ohsweken was arrested and charged with the following nine offences:
In a social media update, Sgt. Ed Sanchuk says the incident was resolved shortly before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, but an investigation is still ongoing as the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate.
