Ontario reports 299 COVID-19 cases and 25 deaths with data clean-up

Ontario reported 299 cases of COVID-19 and 25 deaths on Tuesday, but those figures include data from previous months.

The Ministry of Health says 90 cases from 2020 and 19 deaths previous months have been included in Tuesday’s report as part of a data clean-up.

The reported positivity rate is 1.6 per cent, with the province completing 28,306 tests in the last day.

Hamilton

  • 21,257 total cases — up nine from Monday
  • 20,269 resolved cases
  • 116 active cases
  • 33 in hospital
  • 399 deaths

Halton

  • 17,970 total cases — up five from Monday
  • 17,693 resolved cases
  • 48 active cases
  • 3 in hospital
  • 229 deaths

Niagara

  • 16,208 total cases — up two from Monday
  • 15,631 resolved cases
  • 163 active cases
  • 414 deaths
  • 8 in hospital

Brant

  • 3,400 total cases  — up one from Monday
  • 3,367 resolved cases
  • 13 active cases
  • 20 deaths
  • 3 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,704 total cases — no new cases
  • 2,638 resolved cases
  • 13 active cases
  • 47 deaths

Another 265,231 vaccine doses were administered on Monday. Nearly 90 per cent of those shots were second doses.

Over 4.5 million people in Ontario have received both required vaccine doses.

There are 257 people in hospital with COVID-19 in Ontario.

There are 276 patients with COVID-related illnesses in intensive care units with 185 of them on ventilators.

The updated death toll is 9,154 people.

Another 371 cases were marked as resolved.
