A new study finds heavier people tend to shop at discount supermarkets, or markets in areas with poorly educated consumers.
Produce quality and supermarket size did not appear to influence weight.
Researchers also found just 10% of shoppers bought food at neighborhood stores, which means weight loss campaigns should target discount supermarkets, rather than solely focus on stores in poor neighborhoods.
