WalMart Canada announces hiring plans

WalMart Canada is expanding.

The company announced Monday the addition of more than 4,000 new associates to its team, as well as the opening of 47 hiring centres across the country.

Walmart says it plans to complete at least 73 projects by January of next year including expanding, remodeling or relocating existing stores.

This includes the opening of 39 former Zellers stores which Walmart Canada leased from Target Canada back in 2011.

The company says its staff should exceed 94,000 by 2013, the same year that Target brings its stores to Canada.
