Wage increases to be expected

The Conference Board of Canada says even with an uncertain economy, Canadian workers can expect average salary increases of 3.1% in 2012.

The results come from a survey of 381 predominantly large and medium-sized organizations.

Anticipated wage increases for unionized employees are projected to be 2% in 2012.

Public sector increases are expected to be 1.5% while a 2.3% hike is expected in the private sector.
