Author Randy Boyagoda joined Bob Cowan on Morning Live to discuss his latest novel Dante’s Indiana.

This satire religion fiction follows the story of a man named Prin who is middle-aged, married, but living alone, and has lost his way.

In need of money and purpose, he moves to a small town in Indiana to work for an evangelical millionaire who is developing a theme park inspired by Dante’s Inferno.

Prin becomes involved in the challenging lives of his coworkers and the opioid-ravaged community. At the same time, he is trying to redeem his relationship with his distant wife and God.

Both projects get out of hand, and when a Black teenager is killed, creationists, politicians and protesters get involved.

Prin risks it all to assist those around him while searching for his own way home.

Dante’s Indiana is the second book of a projected trilogy as it follows Original Prin, which was published in 2018.

Boyagoda is the author of six books, including Original Prin, Governor of the Northern Province and Beggar’s Feast. He is also an English professor at the University of Toronto.
