Smoker’s lungs donated

There’s a stigma surrounding getting donated lungs from a smoker.

But a new study out of Britain finds patients who need a lung transplant are better off getting a donated organ from a smoker, than none at all.

Researchers say patients will live longer if they’re willing to accept lungs from anyone.

In Britain, 40% of donated lungs actually come from former smokers.
