Port fuels Ontario agri-food growth

The Port of Hamilton is a key gateway for Ontario’s agri-food industry, handling millions of tonnes of grain, fertilizer, sugar, and other food-related products each year. Agricultural cargo now accounts for nearly one-third of all cargo moving through this port, reflecting the sector’s growing importance.

Mike Warkentin, special projects and stakeholder relations director with Parrish & Heimbecker Limited, and Dana Dickerson, director of market development and sustainability with Grain Farmers of Ontario discussed the port’s role in supporting Ontario agriculture.
