Nutrition labels
You may think you always check nutrition labels when you’re grocery shopping — but a new study finds it’s less often than you think.
Researchers at the University of Minnesota watched more than 200 participants in a simulated grocery shopping experiment.
The shoppers were shown pictures of products while their eye movements were tracked.
30% of them said they almost always look at the fat content of products but the researchers found less than 9% actually did.
More than 20% said they look at trans fat, sugar and serving size info but less than 1% did.
