Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati joined us this morning to discuss the possible Canadian Border Services Agency strike, as the strike would impact events happening in the Falls.

Just this past weekend Niagara Falls hosted Comic Con, which was the biggest and the best ever. Mayor Diodati got to meet Beverly D’Angelo and Chevy Chase, along with Lou Diamond Phillips, Edward James Almos, and Robert Patrick.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer also just passed, where $20 million was raised in Niagara Falls, with $300 million in total.

This Father’s Day weekend the smell of ribs will be in the air as the Rotary is putting on their Ribfest at Rapidsview Park June 14th-16th. Then the following week The Standford Centre Volunteer Fireman’s Carnival will be at Fireman’s Park.

Mayor Diodati also talked about a special boy named Matthew who got to run the elevator at the Skylon tower as part of a co-op. He knows every stat about every elevator, everywhere and said it was is dream job, so the people at the Skylon gave him a summer job running the elevator.
