New initiative creates more pet-friendly domestic-violence shelters

The Purple Leash Project wants to create more pet-friendly domestic violence shelters. Anuradha Dugal, the executive director of Women’s Shelters Canada, along with Maleeha Sheikh, from Nestle Purina Petcare Canada talked about the initiative that has helped more than 321 women and children and over 200 pets stay together in safe environments since it began in 2024.
