New $50’s coming Monday
The Bank of Canada will start circulating new $50 bills on Monday.
The first of the polymer bank note series will be available in automated banking machines, after a ceremony to officially issue them is held at the Canadian Coast Guard’s Quebec port facility.
On the back of the new $50 is the CCGS Amundsen, an arctic research vessel.
The bill highlights Canada’s commitment to Arctic research and the development and protection of northern communities.
