Born in Ottawa, Mort Lightstone joined the Air Force at just 18-years-old, serving as a navigator. He went on to complete advanced training, mastering the art of global celestial navigation- the skill of flying anywhere in the world guided only by the stars.

Over his 28-year Air Force career, Mort served during the Korean War, the Cold War, logging more than 6,600 flying hours, and he was one of about 30,000 Canadians who served in Vietnam

Sean Cowan sat down with Mort to talk about his service.
